The weizen originated at the beginning of the 16th century in Bavaria. Brewed exclusively by the aristocracy for over 250 years, it was only in 1856 that the people were given the right to brew it too. In Germany, it must contain a minimum of 50% wheat to be called weizen. Just as popular hundreds of years laters, it still accounts for 30% of beer sales in Bavaria.
5% alc./vol IBU 12. Slightly hazy and effervescent; brew from 67% wheat. Beautiful balance of fruits (banana) and spices (clove) flavors and aromas.
