Of British origin Porter and stouts were very popular with the imperial court of Russia and the countries around the Baltic Sea, who loved imperial versions of these two beers. The Baltic Porter was first developed by the Scandinavians using local ingredients with cold fermentation and conditioning brewing technique that was largely influenced by the Germans. Our Baltic Porter was brewed in this tradition but using American hops to give it modern aromas.
The perfect match according to Martin Thibault, Les Coureurs des Boires
Such a rich, mystifying beer can easily satisfy all of your tasting desires on its own. That being said, if you ever feel like snacking while you are falling in love with the beer’s unctuous body, know that there are plenty of options. Imperator’s flavors of roasted coffee, vanilla and fruit jam will pair beautifully with spicy jerky. Or with a bowl of honey-glazed roasted brussels sprouts. In all honesty though, this gargantuan brew might very well make you succumb to one thing and one thing only… the desire to relax for the rest of the evening.
